Saturday, June 21, was the Yarbrough reunion in Memphis. It was good to see everyone. Afterwards, we took Mom back home, and on the way stopped by Cottonwood Baptist Church where Mickey Moody is pastor.
I took some pics, then posted them on Facebook with the following:
"It’s a blessing to see what my cousin, Mickey Moody, along with members and volunteers are doing with Cottonwood Baptist Church near Caurthersville, Mo. They are in the process of completing a new building at the site of the original building, where my grandparents, Russell and Laura Yarbrough, were members in the 1930s. My grandmother, Laura, served as WMU director. church clerk and Sunday School superintendent. Cottonwood is a stone’s throw from the Mississippi River and a ferry crossing. My grandparents would have been very proud to know that Mickey is now the pastor of the church!"
