Hannah Senior Letter

Below is the text of a letter read about Hannah at Senior Night at our church.

Dear Hannah,

First of all, we would like for you to know we are very proud of you and thankful to be able to call you “daughter.” It seems like yesterday we heard your first cry…well; maybe a few cries, and your brother Caleb wanted to know if babies could be returned. Now he’s glad we kept you. You have given us many wonderful memories as we have watched your journey through life.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, spending your elementary years in Jefferson City, Missouri and finishing high school in Georgia; you have grown from a funny little girl who loved to sing, play outside with turtles, frogs, bugs and ride horses, to a wonderful young woman. You have proven yourself to be a competitive athlete by lettering in numerous sports, most of all lacrosse…injuries and all. We are so excited you will have the opportunity to continue to play lacrosse in college! Always remember, John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

It has been amazing to watch you grow into the intelligent, loyal, godly, young woman you are today. We thank God for your kind, friendly, easy going, gracefully-forgiving spirit, and look forward to how He will continue to use you for His glory. We are so proud of you and for all of your hard work and accomplishments. It is our prayer that you reach for your dreams while keeping your feet firmly grounded in God’s Word. Keep singing and always stay true to yourself! HE will reward you for stepping out of your comfort zone and following Him! Your determination, drive and sense of humor, along with that smile, will take you far. You have been a good sport through fun things like American Idol contests, and trying times like the dance contest in Hollywood, California; fashion shows, state play-offs and DECA competitions.

As the popular song says, “May God bless and keep you always, may all of your wishes come true, may you always do for others, and let others do for you, may you build a ladder to the stars, and climb on every rung, may you stay, forever young. May you grow up to be righteous, may you grow up to be true, may you always know the truth, and see the lights surrounding you, may you always be courageous, stand upright and be strong, may you stay forever young. May your hands always be busy, may you feet always be swift, may you have a strong foundation, when the winds of changes shift, may your heart always be joyful, may your song always be sung, may you stay forever young.

It’s time for you now to prosper and grow, but before you start we want you to know. Our memories of you are cute dresses and curls; we’ll always see you as our sweet baby girl!
